Mutual Aid

Building networks of solidarity and community support

What is Mutual Aid?

Mutual aid is voluntary, reciprocal exchange of resources and services for mutual benefit. Unlike charity, which often creates power imbalances, mutual aid is based on solidarity and recognizes that we all have something to contribute and all have needs.

At Hands Off Kenosha, we practice mutual aid through food distribution, resource sharing, skill-sharing networks, and emergency support systems.
